Halotherapy (dry salt therapy) is becoming increasingly popular in the equine industry as horse owners seek supportive wellness options for respiratory health, skin conditions, and overall comfort. This certification program provides students with a structured introduction to halotherapy principles and how they apply to equine care. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will have the foundational knowledge required to deliver equine halotherapy sessions in accordance with Equi-Salt Canada standards. During this course, students will: • Learn the fundamentals of halotherapy and how it is used in equine wellness • Understand common equine respiratory and skin conditions that horse owners may seek supportive therapies for • Gain awareness of medications and veterinary treatments that may be used for certain conditions • Learn best practices for preparing and conducting a halotherapy session for horses • Review safety considerations and professional standards • Complete review questions at the end of each module to reinforce learning • Successfully complete a written examination with a minimum passing grade of 90% • Demonstrate understanding of practical skills used during halotherapy sessions • Participate in ongoing education and recertification as new information and industry standards evolve Graduates who meet all course requirements will receive certification as an Equi-Salt Canada Certified Equine Halotherapist.
